Why do we recommend Basics?
One of the things the Lord desires for all His children is that they grow into maturity in Jesus Christ and walk in His ways. 

Through this course, you’ll develop a strong relationship with Jesus and learn how to practically apply God’s Word in your daily life. 

The Basics course also gives you a deeper understanding of who we are as River Church, what we believe, and what our core values are.

Basics 1 – Fundamentals
This course is designed for new believers who have given their lives to Jesus and want to learn more about Him, How to build a strong relationship with Him and how to live as a born-again Christian.

The course consists of 10 evening sessions and covers topics such as your new Christian lifestyle, foundational truths, and key principles like prayer, communion, serving in the house of the Lord, and your relationship with the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. 

Basics 2 – Foundations
This course is for Christians who want to strengthen their foundation in Jesus. It provides equipping and helps you let go of false reasoning and teachings. You’ll learn how to walk in freedom through Jesus and renew your mind so you can understand the will of God the Father.

The course lays a solid foundation for your growth toward spiritual maturity in Christ, with teachings on topics like repentance from dead works, faith in God, the laying on of hands, the person of the Holy Spirit, and the doctrine of the resurrection.

FAQ

  • Is the church accessible by Public Transportation?

    Both the location at Joop Geesinkweg 313 and The RAI Amsterdam are easily accessible by public transportation.

  • Will there be childcare for my children?

    For ages 1-12 there is children’s church. We don’t call it shelter because they get to experience church tomorrow with their peers and get to enter into the living relationship with God themselves. 

  • Is translation available?

    For both services, there is live translation from Dutch to English and English to Dutch. For this, you can easily download the free ‘interactio’ app to listen directly from your own mobile device.
